I was first given a stretchy wrap as a hand-me-down before baby arrived. At first look, I thought wrapping was too troublesome and hot (i live in singapore). When baby arrived and i couldn't calm him, I was desperate and decided to try wrapping. It did wonders for me but I always felt insecurity because of the stretchiness (and it was still too hot, I would be soaking wet every time i unwrapped).I researched the different methods of wrapping on the internet and came across the different types of wrap. Learned how tradition cultures have always used wrapping as a means of transport and calming baby. I believe in the wisdom of traditional cultures and was determined to learn wrapping, especially back carrying styles.Went to a local baby carrier specialist store and learned about the wrapsody brand. I wanted to try the bali breeze but they only carried the wrapsody hybrid. Sampled the hybrid but still found it to be only marginally lighter and cooler than the stretchy wraps. Ended up buying an Austrian?? brand soft-structured carrier called Emei baby ( a hybrid sling and SSC combined)A friend of mine sold batik clothes and I thought i could make my own wrap. Was definitely non-stretchy but i didnt feel secure. Was fed up and decided to try wrapsody breeze. I totally love it. It is lightweight, tight and secure, the print is beautiful!Yet to try BF in it and the back carrier styles.Not sure if i dare to use it to go out with baby yet since i have the SSC which wont drag on the floor.There is definitely a learning curve with wraps. Stretchy wraps are easy to learn to use but once you master basic X, move on to the stretchy wraps for more versatility.i love this thing. very pretty. works great and my baby always falls asleep and is comfortable and snuggled. way better than my old "baby bjorn", my other baby didn't like that type of carrier.I got this specifically because I wanted an alternative to the Ergo with infant insert for summertime. My 2 1/2 month old is much cooler in this and it offers so many options for positionng including a forward facing option which she loves.This is a great gauze wrap. It's perfect for hot weather. It comes with a helpful instructional dvd. Me and my baby love it.
