This was recommended to me after my son was discharged from the nicu. As a preemie, he had a lot of gas and trouble propping. Upon taking this, my son started to release the gas on his own and was able to poop! It’s an amazing product! It’s expensive but so worth it. We have been using it for a month now and he’s doing a lot better! We are die hard Evivo lovers. Let me explain:I heard about Evivo on the Dr’s Farmacy podcast during my last pregnancy and I am SO grateful I did!During my pregnancy I knew I was Group B positive and was concerned about my baby missing out on good bacteria during my vaginal birth due to the antibiotics from the Group B. I heard this episode and decided I wanted to try this after baby was born to try and combat some of that. Her birth went so well but she was born with a birth defect that causes frequent UTI’s and had her first UTI at 48 hrs old still in the hospital. She is my 4th child and my 2nd child also had the same thing. The treatment for this is essentially prophylactic antibiotic for a year and sometimes YEARS. It’s a small dose but I was so bummed because I’ve learned so much about gut health over the years. When we dealt with this same issue with our 2nd child she was the most colicky baby. Just cried and cried and cried. And cried. And cried. Now that I know more I really do think it was a gut health issue - she was on strong antibiotics through a picc line for a month at just 6 weeks old and then the same small dose for a year.I started my 4th baby on Evivo after we got out of the nicu and she had been an absolute dream baby. Every time we run out of Evivo the few days between doses before we get the next shipment (I need to plan better… but 4 kids.) she is so fussy, doesn’t sleep, and is just not a happy camper. She is 5 months now and thriving and I am a serious believer of Evivo. Seriously if you’re on the fence, give it a shot, this stuff is incredible! From 0-2.5 months, my baby was extremely grunty and super fussy due to a lot of tummy troubles/gas. I even went dairy free so that the breast milk would not have any cow proteins, since we thought that was the cause of his tummy issues. He grunted all night making it difficult for any of us to get any sleep.LO's pediatrician had recommended B.infantis (not any particular brand, but generally speaking), and we gave this product a shot.First full dose of this product when baby was close to 3 months - full on vomit coming out of his nose. Scared the hell out of us at the time. Then something magical happened, he slept that night, well, like a baby!Grunts and restless nights came back after a couple of days, so we decided to give it a shot again, but this time, super low dose - like a pinch of it in an ounce of breast milk. We did this for a few days. Then gradually increased the dose - though we never went full dose, just upto half of what was in the packet. And it actually helped. After baby reached 4 months, we stopped to see if it was necessary, and it wasn't. We tried this for a month, and it helped our LO.Starter kit wasn't really not necessary for us as other review mentioned, we just mixed it with breastmilk in a bottle. My baby was on antibiotics the first week of her life, and then I was on them a couple weeks later. She is exclusively breastfed so the antibiotics I had to take effected her too.She was SOOOO gassy and had such painful gas, by the 4th week of her life… we finally gave in and bought this since my midwife recommended it.I prayed it would Start working ASAP and it did praise God! I went from constantly burping her and helping her move gas, to barely getting anything out of her. She didn’t need help. She was pooping in almost every diaper, to going twice a day. This stuff is expensive but truely worth every penny! My breastfed baby was having a lot of bad gas pains that were making him colicky during the day and waking him up at night and he had consistently green poops until we started Evivo. We had tried gripe water, mylicon, and cutting dairy out of my diet but nothing worked. After 2 days of Evivo we noticed a big change - he no longer has gas pains and he has one massive mustard yellow poop per day.Things to know:- The powder doesn’t easily dissolve and it smells and tastes horrible but I have found that if I use 8-10ml of fresh breast milk (vs the 3-5ml they recommend) it is much easier to dissolve and the flavor is less intense so my baby takes it down easier.- My baby’s poop smells like the probiotic which doesn’t have a pleasant odor but he’s happy and it’s only one poop per day so it doesn’t matter.- My baby went from pooping nearly every feeding to just once per day.- The night after the first dose of Evivo my baby seemed to have even more gas pain than normal but the next night he had the best sleep of his life and has had consistently good nights ever since.Love this for my 1 month old baby. We started 1 week after she was born. As a new mom I wasn't sure if it was helping or hurting. But later we noticed that if we skipped a day then our baby would have more painful gas and not sleep well. She is also more regular too. If we didn't give it to her she'd go 2 to 3 days without a movement. One thing that is very annoying however, is that it doesn't dissolve great and feeding through a syringe is messy. I tried to have her take it through a pacifier for medicine, but the hole clogged and that didn't work. So we just stick with the syringe now and we're getting better with it over time.Bottom line, worth it. We will continue to use this regularly until I stop breastfeeding or pumping.
